Recent supply recovery has anchored trader consensus on the $2.00–$2.25 range for the average U.S. retail price of a dozen Grade A large eggs in July 2026, with market-implied odds at 95%. Flock rebuilding after 2025 highly pathogenic avian influenza losses has boosted layer inventories, pushing wholesale prices sharply lower and retail averages to $2.19 in May and $2.14 in June per Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Lower feed costs and stable demand have reinforced the downward trajectory from 2025 peaks. New HPAI outbreaks or unexpected feed-price spikes could still pressure supplies and lift prices above the prevailing band before final July figures are released.
