Chicago Cubs host the Philadelphia Phillies at Wrigley Field in the second game of a four-game series, with Cubs trader consensus bolstered by their 12-9 record versus Philly's struggling 8-13 mark and a 5-1 win Monday behind strong pitching. Aaron Nola (3.12 ERA early) starts for the Phillies against Colin Rea for Chicago, pitting an ace against a back-end rotation arm amid both teams' bullpen woes—Philly missing Jhoan Duran (oblique), Jonathan Bowlan (groin), and Zach Pop (calf), while Cubs rotation and relief corps decimated by IL stints for Justin Steele, Ethan Roberts (finger), Daniel Palencia (oblique), and others. Cubs' home-field edge, recent head-to-head success, and Cubs pitchers' 10th-ranked 3.59 ERA shape a competitive matchup with upset potential from Nola's dominance.
