Houston Astros (10-16, fifth in AL West) hold a recent edge over the Boston Red Sox (9-17, fifth in AL East) after sweeping their early-season series at Minute Maid Park, with Hunter Brown dominating in a 9-2 win and Carlos Correa's three-run homer sealing a 6-4 finale on April 1. Both clubs struggle amid mounting injuries: Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña (knee, out since April 11), starter Cristian Javier (shoulder, 60-day IL as of April 20), and outfielder Jake Meyers (oblique); Red Sox add pitcher Sonny Gray (hamstring, 15-day IL since April 21) and prospect Roman Anthony (back tightness, day-to-day April 25). For the May 3 Fenway Park matchup, taxed rotations and bullpens heighten upset potential, with Boston's home-field advantage offsetting poor form.
