For the full release schedule, see: https://en.www.inegi.org.mx/app/saladeprensa/calendarioMexico’s annual inflation trajectory through mid-2026 has featured a pronounced disinflationary trend, with the headline CPI rate falling from 4.45% in April to 3.12% in July before edging up to 3.26% in August, below consensus. This moderation, driven by lower non-core components and softening goods prices amid weaker domestic demand, has anchored trader expectations for the full-year 2026 outcome near 4%. Banxico has held its policy rate at 6.50% since May, citing sticky services inflation and an upward bias to risks from agricultural shocks and external pressures, with private-sector forecasts clustering around 3.9–4.1% for year-end. The next monetary policy decision on September 24 could reinforce these market-implied odds if officials signal sustained caution.
