Recent polling for Malta's snap general election on 30 May 2026 shows varying turnout projections, with one survey estimating 87.9% and another around 77%, contributing to trader consensus favoring sub-85% participation as the leading outcome. Historical turnout reached 85.6% in 2022 amid a polarized two-party contest between Labour and the Nationalists, but current surveys highlight potential abstention, particularly among Nationalist supporters. The absence of compulsory voting, combined with campaign dynamics and undecided voter shares, supports the market's positioning of the 85-90% bracket as secondary while assigning minimal probability to higher ranges.
