**Incumbent Republican Austin Scott holds a strong position in Georgia’s 8th congressional district ahead of the November 3, 2026 general election.** The district’s R+15 partisan lean, rural southern Georgia voter base, and consistent Republican performance (Scott exceeded 68% in 2024) underpin trader pricing that favors an outright majority for the top candidate. Scott advanced unopposed or with minimal opposition through the Republican primary, while Democrat Kelly Esti secured her nomination in May after defeating Justin Lucas. An independent, Roman Coley Davis, is also on the ballot, but forecasters rate the race Solid or Safe Republican. Scott’s substantial fundraising edge and the absence of competitive polling or recent developments that would narrow margins support the current 71.1% implied probability for a first-round outright winner (majority exceeding 50%, avoiding a potential Georgia runoff). The consensus reflects the district’s structural Republican advantage and limited path for challengers to force a December contest.
