Major parties including Labour, the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats, and Greens opted not to contest the 13 August 2026 Clacton by-election triggered by Nigel Farage’s resignation, leaving a record 34-candidate field dominated by independents and novelty entrants. This boycott elevated Count Binface, the perennial “space warrior” candidate, as the highest-profile challenger through extensive media coverage and tactical-voting attention, while other names remain largely unknown locally. Recent constituency polling shows Farage on roughly 73 percent, with Binface at about 20 percent, and vote-splitting among minor candidates reinforces trader consensus that Binface will finish second. A stronger-than-expected showing by another novelty contender or localized turnout surge could still shift the order before polling day.

This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the second-most valid votes in the Clacton parliamentary by-election.
The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' listed names.
