Flávio Bolsonaro holds a strong position in Rio de Janeiro polling for first place in the October 4 first round, with recent local surveys from Quaest and Datafolha showing him ahead of Lula by margins of 2 to 4 points. His status as a Rio senator and son of the former president aligns with established right-wing support in the state, where he has maintained leads in multiple 2026 readings. National developments, including a Supreme Court crisis and shifting runoff simulations, have contributed to broader momentum for the challenger that traders appear to factor into Rio-specific pricing. Lula trails in state-level data despite his national profile as incumbent, while other candidates register minimal support in local surveys. The first-round structure and Rio's voting patterns provide structural context for the current trader consensus reflected in the odds.
