Flávio Bolsonaro maintains a commanding lead in Mato Grosso do Sul polling for the October 2026 first-round presidential vote, with recent surveys showing him at 43% against Lula at 33% amid 13% undecided and 10% blank/null intentions. This positioning stems from the state's Center-West alignment with PL-aligned candidates, reinforced by local support for Governor Eduardo Riedel and the broader consolidation of Bolsonarista voters following Jair Bolsonaro's ineligibility. Fragmented opposition fields, including Ronaldo Caiado, Renan Santos, and Romeu Zema in low single digits, limit challenges. Traders price in these trends as the dominant factor, while noting that shifts among undecided voters, national campaign developments, or unexpected consolidation behind another contender could still alter first-place outcomes before election day.
