Peltola’s strong early fundraising edge and recent polling leads have positioned her as the clear trader favorite for the 2026 Alaska Senate seat. She reported nearly $9 million in first-quarter receipts, far outpacing incumbent Sullivan’s totals, while surveys from Alaska Survey Research show her ahead by six to seven points in head-to-head matchups. The race features a nonpartisan primary in August under ranked-choice voting rules, followed by the November general election. Economic concerns over inflation and gas prices have allowed Peltola to emphasize affordability measures such as targeted tax relief, narrowing what has historically been a Republican advantage in the state despite Sullivan’s focus on resource development projects. Minor candidates continue to register negligible support in both polls and market pricing.
