Recent announcements from Starcloud, which launched the first NVIDIA H100 GPU-powered satellite in November 2025 and successfully trained a large language model in orbit, combined with its planned Starcloud-2 deployment in October 2026, have boosted trader confidence in near-term orbital AI infrastructure. The February 2026 SpaceX-xAI merger and FCC filing for up to one million data center satellites underscore aggressive scaling plans leveraging Starship launches and abundant solar power to bypass terrestrial energy and cooling constraints. Google's Project Suncatcher partnership with Planet for 2027 prototype launches and NVIDIA's new space-optimized platforms further signal competitive momentum. Key upcoming catalysts include regulatory approvals, additional satellite tests, and cost-parity milestones that could accelerate or delay full operational data centers.
