This market will resolve according to the candidate who receives the most valid votes from Washtenaw County in the Democratic Primary for United States Senator from Michigan, which is scheduled to be held on August 4, 2026. The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If the Washtenaw County results of this election are not definitively known by December 31, 2026, this market will resolve to “Other.” This market will resolve based on a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the government of Michigan, including the Office of the Secretary of State and the government of Washtenaw County.Abdul El-Sayed maintains a near-certain position as the Washtenaw County winner in Michigan’s August 4 Democratic U.S. Senate primary due to his residence in Ann Arbor and decisive performance among the county’s younger, college-educated voters. Early returns showed him prevailing by roughly 25 points, consistent with strong local backing for his progressive platform and prior role as a public health official. Haley Stevens, the more moderate establishment candidate, trailed significantly in this liberal-leaning area despite competitive statewide results. McMorrow’s earlier withdrawal consolidated support among progressives, while late July polls had already signaled El-Sayed’s edge in similar demographics. With over 95 percent of votes reported and the outcome aligned with historical patterns in university-heavy counties, only an unprecedented recount or certification reversal could alter the result.
