Ekaterina Perelygina enters this first-round ITF W35 Mohammedia clay-court match holding a modest ranking edge near 595 over Aya El Aouni, whose current standing sits deeper in the 800s after a career-high WTA singles mark of 598. With no prior head-to-head meetings, recent ITF results and surface adaptation on red clay shape expectations, as both players navigate early-season form following limited high-level exposure. Perelygina’s steadier results across recent W35 events provide a slight edge in match toughness, while El Aouni benefits from local familiarity as a Moroccan player. The outcome hinges on baseline consistency and error minimization in what projects as a competitive opener without reported injuries or withdrawals altering the field.
