In the ITTF World Cup Macao 2026 women's singles group stage, trader consensus slightly favors Maylis Giret at 51.5% implied probability over higher-ranked Prithika Pavade (ITTF #29), reflecting Pavade's return from several weeks sidelined by injury, which introduces rust risk despite her left-hand shakehand attack prowess and strong historical form against top opponents. Giret (around #167), representing New Caledonia, enters with momentum from qualifying via the Oceania continental cup, creating competitive balance in this Group 16 matchup. Recent group stage results show no major upsets yet, but Pavade's sharpness in early rallies or lingering recovery issues could swiftly shift sentiment, with her superior ranking and experience as key upset deterrents for Giret.
