Anna Kalinskaya enters as the clear favorite against Viktoriya Tomova in the Credit One Charleston Open second round on green clay, backed by her No. 22 WTA ranking and strong early-2026 form including Australian Open third-round run and wins over top players like Emma Navarro. Tomova, ranked around No. 163, earned her spot with a straight-sets upset over Jennifer Brady in the first round just hours ago, showcasing qualifier momentum on the faster green clay surface. Their head-to-head stands even at 2-2, all on hard courts from 2019 qualifiers, leaving stylistic matchup open; Kalinskaya's power baseline game holds edge, but Tomova's defensive resilience and recent clay adaptation could fuel upset potential amid no reported injuries.
