McCartney Kessler holds a perfect 2-0 head-to-head edge over Magda Linette, including a straight-sets win at the 2025 US Open, fueling trader consensus toward the American in this Credit One Charleston Open first-round clash on green clay. Linette enters with momentum from upsetting world No. 2 Iga Swiatek in Miami's second round before a third-round exit to Alexandra Eala, showcasing improved hard-court form at No. 50 in the rankings. Kessler, ranked No. 51, rallied past Magdalena Frech in Miami's opener but fell to Mirra Andreeva next, posting a 6-6 record this year amid home-crowd support in Charleston. Both players' clay histories remain untested head-to-head, with weather and fatigue from recent Sunshine Double events as key variables.
