Madison Keys, the 2019 Credit One Charleston Open champion and world No. 18, holds a strong edge on the tournament's green clay with multiple deep runs, including a quarterfinal last year, bolstered by home-crowd support and her powerful first-strike tennis. She advanced convincingly yesterday with a 6-2, 6-3 second-round rout of Donna Vekic, extending her 2026 clay record to 2-0 amid solid early-season form (10-5 overall). Anna Bondar, ranked No. 68, brings clay-court rhythm after straight-sets upsets over Darja Vidmanova and Magdalena Frech this week, marking her best Charleston showing, but faces a class jump against Keys' serve and baseline aggression in their first head-to-head. No injuries reported; outdoor conditions favor baseline rallies.
