McCartney Kessler, ranked No. 51, holds a clear edge over No. 143 Elvina Kalieva in their Credit One Charleston Open Round of 64 clash on green clay, reflecting trader consensus on Kessler's WTA experience despite her 0-6 career clay record and no 2026 dirt time. Kalieva enters as a lucky loser after a dominant 6-2, 6-0 qualifying win over Madison Brengle but a straight-sets 1-6, 1-6 loss to Akasha Urhobo in the final yesterday, providing recent surface reps amid her strong early-year hard-court surge including a W100 San Diego title. No head-to-head history exists between the Americans, with Kessler's recent Austin 125 quarterfinal run contrasting Kalieva's qualifier momentum in this first meeting.
