The 22-year-old Kalieva carries momentum from a 12-4 record in 2026, including a Miami second-round run halted by Elise Mertens last week, showcasing improved consistency on hard courts ahead of the clay swing. Veteran Brengle, 35, has struggled at 7-9 this year, with early qualifying exits at Indian Wells and ATX Open, though her experience on Charleston's unique green clay could factor in this all-American matchup. No reported injuries; outcome hinges on Kalieva's rising form versus Brengle's tactical savvy.
