The three-match T20I series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, originally scheduled for Sharjah from March 13-17, was indefinitely postponed on March 11 due to escalating regional security concerns from the West Asia conflict, prompting traders to monitor rescheduling prospects for late 2026. Afghanistan unveiled their squad with opener Ibrahim Zadran as new T20I captain—replacing Rashid Khan—bolstered by spinners Rashid, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Noor Ahmad alongside allrounder Azmatullah Omarzai. Sri Lanka holds a strong recent head-to-head edge, sweeping the 2024 T20Is, while both sides carry T20 World Cup 2026 momentum amid uncertainty over venue, pitch conditions, and team preparations.
