In the Grand Prix Hassan II qualifying draw on clay in Marrakech, No. 141 Moez Echargui faces No. 195 Timofey Skatov in their first head-to-head matchup, scheduled for Court 2 on March 30. Both advanced from Q1 yesterday: Echargui defeated local Moroccan Younes Lalami Laaroussi 6-4, 7-6(3) with 30 winners and a 77% first-serve win rate, while Skatov rallied from a first-set loss to beat qualifier seed (3) Andrea Pellegrino 3-6, 4-1 ret. Skatov holds a stronger 2026 record at 11-8 overall (1-1 clay) versus Echargui's 4-9 (1-0 clay), though Echargui's Tunisian roots offer crowd proximity on home soil. Trader consensus reflects Echargui's ranking edge and Q1 dominance amid limited recent clay action for both.
