In the ATP Challenger San Luis Potosi round of 16 on outdoor hard courts, Chilean Matias Soto (ATP 294) carried strong momentum into the matchup against Mexican wildcard Alan Magadan (ATP 750), fresh off his first Challenger title last week in Morelia and a six-match win streak entering. Soto, 26, boasts superior experience and a career-high of No. 240, while the 24-year-old Magadan earned his spot via a gritty upset over No. 260 Stefan Kozlov in the first round, buoyed by home-crowd support at Estadio Magadan. With no prior head-to-head, trader consensus likely favored Soto's form and ranking edge, though Magadan's recent qualifier success and local advantage added upset potential amid clay-to-hard surface transitions for both.
