Top-seeded James Duckworth enters the San Luis Potosi Challenger quarterfinals on outdoor hard courts with a commanding 4-1 head-to-head edge over Beibit Zhukayev, including a straight-sets semifinal win in last year's Morelia Challenger on similar surface and a prior victory here in 2024's R32 on clay. Duckworth, ranked No. 95, has cruised through early rounds without dropping a set, defeating Alejandro Rubio Fierros 6-1 6-1 and Mateo Tobon 6-4 6-3 amid a 7-10 YTD record but strong recent momentum. Zhukayev, No. 353 with a 6-7 YTD mark, grinded two three-set wins—over Robin Catry 7-6(7) 1-6 6-4 and Dan Martin 7-6(7) 6-3 6-4—highlighting resilience despite his sole prior upset over Duckworth on grass. No injury concerns reported, with Duckworth's experience and break-point efficiency (40% conversion in tournament) shaping trader consensus.
