In the ATP Challenger San Luis Potosi first-round clash on outdoor red clay, higher-ranked Mexican left-hander Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez (No. 280) faces qualifier Tibo Colson (No. 517) in their first head-to-head meeting. Pacheco, a prior R2 finisher here in 2023 and 2025, enters off a quarterfinal loss to Borna Gojo in last week's Morelia Challenger, with a 10-9 YTD record and no 2026 clay matches yet despite a career 39-49 clay log. Colson rides qualifier momentum, dominating Matteo Covato 6-2 6-1 and Alan Raul Sau Franco 2-6 6-0 6-3 over the past 48 hours for a perfect 2-0 clay mark this year amid a strong 14-6 overall slate. Home crowd support and ranking edge favor Pacheco, but Colson's aggressive serving and recent form introduce upset potential on the high-altitude clay.
