In the US Men's Clay Court Championships qualifiers, #163 Alex Bolt faces #223 Andres Andrade in the second-round matchup on March 29 at Houston's Court 3, with the winner securing a main draw spot against a top seed. Both advanced yesterday: Bolt mounted a comeback against American Alex Rybakov, winning 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 after dropping the opener, while Ecuadorian Andrade dispatched Stefan Dostanic 2-0 in efficient fashion. Bolt's higher ranking and left-handed serve provide an edge, but his modest ATP clay record (career-limited success) contrasts Andrade's regional clay expertise (87-51 lifetime at Challenger/ITF levels). No prior head-to-head; outdoor conditions emphasize endurance and baseline rallies on the slower surface.
