In the Sao Leopoldo Challenger's round of 32 on red clay, No. 8 seed Felipe Meligeni Alves (ATP 240) holds a clear edge over alternate Joaquin Aguilar Cardozo (ATP 540) in their first head-to-head matchup. The Brazilian thrives on home soil, arriving off a dominant 6-1, 6-0 R32 win over Victor Braga in last week's Sao Paulo Challenger before a competitive R16 loss to Jaime Faria. Aguilar, a 20-year-old Uruguayan, showed grit reaching Tigre's R16 via qualies but retired injured at 0-2 in the third set against Juan Pablo Varillas three weeks ago, raising fitness questions. Meligeni's experience (five Challenger titles) and surface affinity shape trader consensus amid no late withdrawals.
