No. 63-ranked Solana Sierra faces qualifier Akasha Urhobo in the Credit One Charleston Open first round on Har-Tru clay, where the Argentine's baseline game and clay-court upbringing give her a stylistic edge. Urhobo, world No. 264, earned her main-draw spot with dominant qualifying wins over Whitney Osuigwe (6-2, 6-2) and Elvina Kalieva (6-1, 6-1) in the past 48 hours, extending her strong 12-3 YTD record and fueling upset potential amid home-crowd support in Charleston. Sierra enters 7-10 YTD after hard-court losses in Miami and Indian Wells, with no head-to-head history; traders weigh her WTA experience against the American teen's momentum and clay affinity from ITF success.
