Belinda Bencic enters as the slight trader consensus favorite over Madison Keys in their Credit One Charleston Open quarterfinal on green clay, buoyed by her 2022 title here and a straight-sets round-of-16 win this week after a tight 7-6, 7-6 third-round escape. Keys, the 2019 champion and world No. 18, counters with strong momentum from dominant 6-2, 6-3 defeats of Donna Vekic yesterday and Anna Bondar earlier, leveraging her powerful baseline game and 9-4 clay record last season despite early-2026 injury scares now resolved. Their head-to-head favors Keys 3-2 overall, but Bencic's 2022 clay win over her here underscores the matchup's competitiveness, with home-crowd support and no reported fitness issues for either.
