In the Copa Colsanitas qualification first round on Bogota's high-altitude clay courts, trader consensus favors Irene Burillo Escorihuela's experience and ranking (#218) over 18-year-old Colombian wildcard Mariana Higuita Barraza (#1057), despite no head-to-head history. Burillo enters with 4-1 form across her last five matches, including clay wins before a March 18 ITF loss to Lisa Zaar, showcasing solid recent momentum. Higuita struggles at 1-4 lately, capped by a 1-6, 1-6 defeat to Gergana Topalova on clay March 4. Local acclimatization aids Higuita amid thinner air that accelerates shots, but Burillo's superior clay pedigree and no reported injuries tilt probabilities; upsets remain possible in volatile qualifiers.
