Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects an 86.5% implied probability against Uber asking Travis Kalanick to return, driven primarily by the company's sustained success under CEO Dara Khosrowshahi since 2017, including Q2 2024 earnings that beat expectations with record profitability in ridesharing and delivery segments. Kalanick's forced exit amid scandals, coupled with his sale of most Uber shares and focus on CloudKitchens, has eroded any board appetite for reconciliation. Absent crises like leadership vacuums or stock plunges—unlike Uber's turbulent past—no catalysts emerge, with attention fixed on upcoming robotaxi advancements via Waymo partnerships that reinforce current management's autonomous vehicle strategy.
