The June 2026 DoD update to the Section 1260H Chinese Military Companies list added 65 entities—including major technology firms such as Alibaba, Baidu, and BYD, along with biotech player WuXi AppTec and several semiconductor and robotics companies—reflecting intensified focus on military-civil fusion ties and supply-chain risks. This expansion, which also removed a smaller group of entities, occurred ahead of procurement restrictions taking effect in 2026 and 2027, underscoring ongoing regulatory pressure on U.S. dealings with Chinese AI, electric-vehicle, and advanced-manufacturing sectors. Further designations before the June 2027 market cutoff will likely hinge on new DoD reviews, court challenges to specific listings, and any legislative actions targeting biotechnology or critical-technology firms.
