Incumbent Rep. Don Beyer (D) solidified his reelection path in Virginia's 8th Congressional District—a solidly Democratic stronghold encompassing Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, and eastern Fairfax County—by announcing his candidacy on February 6 and securing endorsements from Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine plus Rep. Abigail Spanberger in late February. Recent reporting highlights a crowded Democratic primary on June 16 with at least five challengers questioning Beyer's age and record, but the district's D+15 partisan lean and history of double-digit Democratic general election margins underpin trader consensus at 93.5% for the Democratic Party nominee. Republican prospects remain dim amid a thin field led by veteran Tony Sabio, with upset scenarios limited to a disorganized Democratic primary outcome, national GOP midterm wave, or unforeseen scandal.
