With the 2026 NCAA men's tournament down to the Elite Eight as of March 28, trader sentiment hinges on the eight remaining teams' paths through regional finals and Final Four semifinals to the April 6 National Championship game: No. 1 seeds Duke, Michigan, and Arizona; No. 2 UConn and Purdue; No. 3 Illinois; No. 6 Tennessee; and surprise No. 9 Iowa. Recent Sweet 16 developments drove positioning, including Iowa's upset over a higher seed, Purdue's 79-77 thriller over Texas, Duke's narrow hold on St. John's, Michigan's cruise past its opponent, Arizona's domination of Arkansas, Illinois' defeat of Houston, and Tennessee's edge on Iowa State. Big Ten dominance features four squads in pivotal matchups like Iowa-Illinois and Arizona-Purdue, while Duke-UConn looms as a heavyweight clash; no major injuries reported, but rest advantages and head-to-head history could sway outcomes.
