Trader consensus in the NC-05 House race strongly favors the Republican at 90%, anchored by incumbent Rep. Virginia Foxx's entrenched advantage in this solidly Republican district with a Cook Partisan Voter Index of R+14. Foxx cruised through an unopposed primary and leads Democrat Kathy Neely by 25+ points in the latest polls from late October, bolstered by a fundraising edge exceeding 10-to-1 and superior GOP turnout history. Recent developments, including early voting data showing higher Republican participation and no major campaign gaffes, reinforce the low Democratic path to victory, with markets reflecting minimal upset potential ahead of Election Day.
