Trader consensus favors Republicans at 63.5% to hold Iowa's open U.S. Senate seat after Sen. Joni Ernst's retirement, reflecting the state's consistent Republican lean in recent cycles and Rep. Ashley Hinson's strong positioning as the GOP frontrunner with former President Trump's endorsement. A Teamsters poll released April 1 shows Democrat Zach Wahls leading state Rep. Josh Turek 56%-38% in the June 2 Democratic primary, amid party disarray highlighted by divided Senate endorsements—Sens. Cortez Masto and Hassan backing Turek, Sen. Warren supporting Wahls—and Republican efforts to boost Wahls via circulated internal polling as a weaker general matchup. No recent general election polls exist, emphasizing pre-primary uncertainty with the November 3 contest eight months away.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
