The open seat in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District, following incumbent Neal Dunn’s January 2026 retirement announcement, anchors trader positioning in the race. The district’s northern Panhandle and Tallahassee footprint has delivered consistent Republican majorities, including a 61.6 percent win for Dunn in 2024, and nonpartisan forecasters rate the general election as solid or safe Republican. Eight Republican primary contenders, led in fundraising by self-funder Keith Gross, compete ahead of the August 18 primary, while Democratic candidates trail sharply in contributions and name recognition. Recent campaign-finance filings showing nearly $7 million raised by GOP entrants underscore the party’s organizational and financial edge, aligning with the 83.5 percent Republican consensus reflected in current market pricing.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
