The tight race for Billboard Hot 100 #2 the week of August 1 reflects intense competition among established hits and recent releases from major artists. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” and “Be Her” continue to benefit from country-pop crossover momentum, robust streaming, and radio dominance after her prolonged #1 run, while Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drop Dead,” “Stupid Song,” and “The Cure” draw on strong pop engagement and album-driven consumption. Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You,” Ariana Grande’s “hate that i made you love me,” and Drake’s “Janice STFU” add further pressure through consistent airplay and fan-driven metrics. With multiple tracks per artist vying for positions and no clear separator in recent chart data, traders see outcomes hinging on final streaming updates and radio gains before the tracking week closes.
