Recent polls ahead of Berlin’s September 20 Abgeordnetenhaus election show Die Linke, led by Elif Eralp, holding 19–22 percent support—well above its 12.2 percent result in 2023 that yielded 22 seats. Gains have come amid SPD weakness and a competitive three-way race with the CDU and AfD, each near 18–21 percent in surveys from Infratest dimap, Forsa, Civey, and INSA. These trends imply a larger vote share that, under the state’s proportional system, would translate into roughly 35–40 seats for Linke. Traders’ emphasis on the 35–39 and 40+ brackets aligns with this polling momentum and the limited time remaining before voting.
