In the ATP Challenger Split semifinals on outdoor clay, No. 269 Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg faces No. 248 Tom Gentzsch, both 22-year-old right-handers riding momentum from quarterfinal shutouts—Gueymard Wayenburg's 6-1, 7-5 over local Andrej Nedić and Gentzsch's dominant 6-0, 6-2 rout of Alexander Vasilev. Gueymard Wayenburg holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge, winning 6-3, 6-1 in Helsinki Challenger qualifying last November on indoor hard, but clay shifts dynamics with Gentzsch's recent straight-sets run past Jonas Forejtek, Filippo Romano, and Vasilev, conceding just one tiebreak. No reported injuries or withdrawals; match conditions at Stadion Mile Moralic favor baseline grinders amid mild spring weather. Trader sentiment hinges on form streaks, surface adaptation, and revenge potential in this evenly matched clash between rising prospects.
