Grigor Dimitrov holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge over Tomas Martin Etcheverry from their 2024 Rolex Paris Masters clash indoors, but clay specialist Etcheverry enters the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters round of 64 with fresher surface momentum after reaching the Houston Clay Court Championships quarterfinals last week, defeating qualifier Alex Bolt before a straight-sets loss to Tommy Paul. Dimitrov, a two-time Monte Carlo semifinalist with a 27-13 lifetime record here despite favoring faster courts, arrives off hard-court results including an Indian Wells second-round exit to Carlos Alcaraz. Etcheverry's baseline grinding suits the slow Monte Carlo clay, while Dimitrov's all-court game could exploit any early lapses; no injury concerns reported, with outdoor conditions potentially favoring endurance in this ATP Masters 1000 opener.
