In the Mexico City Challenger final on high-altitude clay courts, top seed James Duckworth (ATP No. 86) faced underdog Stefano Napolitano (No. 302), with trader consensus likely favoring the Australian's dominant run—straight-sets quarterfinal and semifinal wins over Tibo Colson and Stefan Kozlov—highlighting his baseline consistency and adaptation to altitude-enhanced ball speed. Napolitano earned his spot via gritty three-set victory over Tristan Schoolkate and straight-sets dispatch of Luka Pavlovic, buoyed by a 1-0 head-to-head edge from their 2019 clay clash. A rain suspension disrupted the match early in the second set, testing momentum before Duckworth prevailed 6-7(7), 7-6(3), 6-2, underscoring the upset potential on slower clay despite ranking disparity.
