The nonpartisan primary for Alaska’s at-large U.S. House seat is scheduled for August 18, 2026, with the filing deadline on June 1. Incumbent Republican Nicholas Begich faces declared challengers including Democrat Matt Schultz, independent Bill Hill, and several lesser-known candidates. A May 2026 poll showed Begich at 46 percent, Schultz at 29 percent, and Hill at 11 percent, leaving the outcome sensitive to further candidate entries, fundraising, union endorsements, and vote consolidation under Alaska’s primary rules. The top finishers will advance to the November general election, where ranked-choice voting applies.
