With 42 nations already secured for the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup—including hosts Canada, Mexico, and USA alongside powerhouses like Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, and first-timers Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan—trader consensus centers on the final six spots amid UEFA play-off finals set for March 31. Recent semi-final drama over the past week propelled Italy past Northern Ireland (2-0), Bosnia and Czechia via penalty shootouts against Wales and Republic of Ireland, Turkey edging Romania (1-0), and others like Kosovo, Sweden, Poland, and Denmark advancing, highlighting closely contested knockout ties. Inter-confederation play-offs pit Jamaica against DR Congo and Bolivia versus Iraq for the last two berths, where form, home advantage, and defensive solidity will prove decisive in these high-stakes eliminators.
