Julianne Moore’s performance in Jesse Eisenberg’s musical dramedy *The Debut* has emerged as the clearest early driver of trader sentiment for the 2027 Best Actress race, fueled by strong reviews following its Telluride premiere and positioning her as the market frontrunner. The Academy’s recent comfort with repeat winners and the film’s blend of critical buzz and studio support have lifted implied probabilities for Moore well above the field. Other contenders, including Inde Navarrette in *Obsession*, Renate Reinsve in *Fjord*, and Sandra Hüller projects, sit lower amid a wide-open field where few 2026 releases have screened widely. With Venice, Toronto, and New York festivals still ahead, along with guild and critics’ awards later, the current spread reflects speculative positioning rather than locked consensus, leaving room for momentum shifts once more reviews and precursor results arrive.
