De'Von Achane enters the 2026 season as Miami’s undisputed lead back and offensive focal point after a 2025 campaign of 1,350 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 238 carries. The Dolphins, now led by head coach Jeff Hafley and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik with quarterback Malik Willis under center, plan a ground-heavy approach built around Achane’s explosiveness and receiving skills out of the backfield. This setup could sustain volume even in negative game scripts, though Miami’s projected bottom-tier offense and red-zone limitations may constrain scoring opportunities. Achane has no reported injuries heading into Week 2, and the backfield depth chart features limited competition from Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon. Traders weigh his elite efficiency and workload potential against the Dolphins’ broader roster challenges when assessing his rushing touchdown total.
