This market will resolve to "Yes" if Bloomberg L.P. completes an Initial Public Offering (IPO) by the listed date ET, as confirmed by official company announcements and credible news sources. Bloomberg L.P. includes any successor, parent, or newly formed entity through which the Bloomberg business is listed. If Bloomberg is acquired by another company that is already public, this market will immediately resolve to "No." The resolution source for this market is a consensus of credible reporting.Recent reports from late July 2026 indicated Bloomberg LP executives held preliminary, informal talks with investment bankers about a potential IPO or other strategic transaction amid succession planning, as founder Michael Bloomberg, now 84, has transferred shares to Bloomberg Philanthropies. The company quickly pushed back, stating Bloomberg controls the firm as majority shareholder and has no plans to sell. Bankers have informally valued the private financial data and media firm above $80 billion based on its terminal subscriptions and news operations. No public filings, official announcements, or confirmed timelines have emerged since, leaving trader sentiment shaped by the contrast between early-stage exploration and the founder's explicit stance against a sale.
