Elon Musk's March 10 announcement that X Money would enter early public access in April initially fueled optimism for X's evolution into a WeChat-style everything app, featuring peer-to-peer payments, 6% APY savings, cashback debit cards, and FDIC-insured deposits via Cross River Bank partner. However, an external beta rollout in March fell short of the open public access threshold, while a Senate Banking Committee letter on April 14 raised regulatory concerns over the platform's money transmitter licenses in 41 states. Competitive pressures from Venmo and regulatory scrutiny have introduced uncertainty; traders await official confirmation of broad signup availability before month-end, with hints of future crypto integration via hires like Aave's former chief product officer potentially boosting long-term adoption.

The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from X; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
