This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Don Mattingly leads trader consensus at 47.5% as the Phillies’ interim manager since late April, following Rob Thomson’s dismissal after the club’s MLB-worst 9-19 start. The team’s subsequent turnaround, including a franchise-record streak of series wins and improved results across pitching and offense, has strengthened Mattingly’s case for the permanent role. Alex Cora sits second at 28.4% on the strength of his prior offer from Philadelphia (which he declined to prioritize family time) and his established rapport with president Dave Dombrowski, now that Cora is available after his own departure from Boston. Lower-probability names such as George Lombard, Carlos Beltrán, and Will Venable reflect broader speculation around external candidates with MLB coaching or playing pedigrees, though none carry the same recent momentum or organizational ties. Market pricing continues to track Mattingly’s in-season performance and any updates on Cora’s availability.
