Lula holds a commanding position in Sergipe for first place in the October 4 first round due to consistent regional strength in the Northeast, where state-specific polling from late August showed him at 53% compared to 19% for Flávio Bolsonaro and single digits or less for other contenders including Augusto Cury, Ronaldo Caiado, and Renan Santos. Government approval ratings near 60% in the state and positive evaluations of federal performance reinforce this edge among key voting blocs. National first-round surveys place Lula ahead overall, though the race remains competitive elsewhere. Trader consensus reflects these patterns while acknowledging potential late shifts from campaign events, turnout variations, or unexpected consolidation behind challengers before voting concludes.
