Aryna Sabalenka holds the top position in this wide-open 2026 Women’s US Open market thanks to her hard-court dominance, recent titles on the surface, and experience reaching multiple Flushing Meadows finals as defending champion. Current WTA rankings place her at No. 1 ahead of Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula, with her powerful baseline game and strong 2026 hard-court record setting her apart from rivals. Iga Swiatek has shown recent momentum on North American hard courts after strong results in Toronto, while Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva bring consistency and youth, respectively. Naomi Osaka’s resurgence and home-soil factors for American players add depth, though injuries to several top contenders highlight the field’s unpredictability heading into the late-August hard-court major.
